Submit nominations of books on economics, economic history or the political economy of the Middle East and North Africa (Mali to Pakistan) whose work seeks to advance knowledge and scholarship on these areas within the modern period (roughly 1750 to the present). Winner awarded $2000.

Malcolm H. Kerr Dissertation Awards. Submission deadline: July 1, 2015
Students completing their dissertations between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015 may submit entries for the 2015 Malcolm H. Kerr Dissertation Awards. The competition is to recognize exceptional achievement in research and writing for/of dissertations in Middle East studies. Winners in each category awarded $1000.

The award recognizes the contributions of individuals through their outstanding service to MESA or the profession. Service is defined broadly to include work in diverse areas, including but not limited to outreach, librarianship, and film. Winner awarded $1000.
