Description:
Designing curriculum to convey quality information is a dynamic part of our role as scholars in academic and non-academic environments. This panel explores methods and philosophies of teaching and learning about Arab and Diasporic Arab Cultures. We might consider these questions:
- What are the teaching philosophies that support effective teaching and learning about Arab and Diasporic Arab Cultures?
- Who are part of the multiple audiences we encounter in our classrooms, seminars, and public lectures and by what stances, approaches, and philosophies do we convey information to those audiences?
- What are some materials and mediums (books, film, art, podcasts, syllabi, assignments etc.) that are most effective in conveying information to our audiences?
- Activists and scholars. How do we navigate these roles?
