Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce the establishment of the Moise A. Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies at the North Carolina State University. This is the only center–outside Lebanon–dedicated to research about the Lebanese Diaspora in the US and throughout the world, and to the dissemination of this knowledge to the scholarly community and general public.
This center is only possible because of the selfless generosity of Dr. Moise Khayrallah who donated a $8.1 Million dollars to endow the center, which is named after him.
The Khayrallah Center offers multiple opportunities (post-doc fellowships, conference and workshop support, training of Ph.D. and undergraduate students, development of archive, public history projects, publication of Mashriq & Mahjar, etc.) to advance the scholarly conversations and work on diaspora studies. It aims to facilitate the work of individual scholars, as well as collaborative projects pertaining to the Lebanese Diaspora in particular, but also to all Middle Eastern diasporas.
We look forward to working with each and every one of you to advance these goals and to place the Khayrallah Center at your service. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or inquiries.
